Yellow lighted X to indicate runway is closed under cloudy skies

The main runway at Paine Field, Runway 16R/34L, will be closed for four nights beginning Aug. 30th through Sep. 3rd to collect core samples and other data for a future paving project. The closure will be in effect nightly from 11:59 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

During the closures, contractors will be collecting core samples and ground penetrating radar (GPR) data to help the airport evaluate the runway pavement for a future pavement project.

Arrivals and departures will not be accommodated on RWY 16R/34L during the nightly closures.

The general aviation runway, RWY 16L/34R, will be open during this closure.

Pilots are reminded to check NOTAMs as conditions may change.
